Our Project
The "Our Pious Predecessors" project aims to bring about deep change in the lives of the men and women of the French-speaking Muslim community. We will have the opportunity to reflect on the great life choices of our pious predecessors, to draw parallels with our own lives and, by the will of Allah, attempt to bring about a profound reform within ourselves!
Through the lives of these illustrious figures, we will be led to question our worldview in very practical ways: for example, revisiting how we view the concept of family in Islam, how we raise our children, the role of the Muslim man and woman in society, our relationship with work, and even redefining concepts such as happiness, success and justice as they originally exist in Islam.
Yes! This will be an active reading! You will be invited to question yourself throughout this journey:
- Faced with a decisive life choice, this Sahabi made such a decision in the blink of an eye... And me, have I ever been confronted with a situation like that? If so, how did I react? And if not, how would I have reacted?
- This Sahabiya responded in a way that surprises me! It seems her framework of values is different from mine... How is it different?
- Why is this young person addressed as if he were already an adult? How is he so mature at his age? He seems ready to take on responsibilities that, perhaps, I would not take on myself at his age. What does this say about the society we live in? And as a young person, what responsibility do I take for Allah's religion? And as a parent, how do I raise my children, how do I make them responsible? What should I pass on as a priority? And how am I supposed to do it?
In addition to these reflections, we will also offer concrete actions to carry out in everyday life! More than beautiful stories, these are opportunities for us to reform ourselves and draw closer to our Lord سبحان الله
